Oyuki Azuma
Oyuki is a young, poet and photographer turned filmmaker. Her influences are an ecclectic mashup drawing from sources as disparate as Octavia Butler and Quentin Terontino, Ntozake Shange and Bjork, Kazuo Koike and Audre Lorde. She makes what she calls "B Movies"...the "other side of what tried to be". Her films are short, unflinching, cruel solutions to achingly complicated, intractable problems.
My films are alive. I am dead. My films are my messengers to what killed me...
