FLOAT – Floridians Living On Artistic Traditions -is a time-sensitive project, leveraging gatheringsof innovative change-making artists and scholars throughout Florida.

As artists, scholars, and designers, we seek to collaborate effectively with the forces of change, embrace the complexity of our evolving human experience, and empower our students and faculty to shape that experience fearlessly through critical study, creative practice, and provocation.
Just within these last few years, we have seen such force of change and complexity put our strategy to the test. Today our community ebbs and flows together and apart, making sense and taking action as best as we can. One such wave-like event is FLOAT

FLOAT is located in the NOW, with a conscious tether to our history of how things were done and our tether towards an unknown future of how things can potentially be done.
FLOAT is an innovative project
Intended to be a pilot intervention, an experiment in the sustaining of academic and artistic freedom, and a capacity to continue the work toward liberator and humanist education... in spite of (or perhaps inspired by) an oppressive political context.
This project aims to promote artistic agency, social solidarity, and cultural exchange across various networks.
